According to www.wikipedia.org over 50% of states are covered by a smoking ban of some form. In some states smoking is ban in restaurants and bars, in others this ban also includes hotel rooms and even patios. America is trying to tell smokers in one voice, smoking is bad, be healthy. The smoking bans are not going anywhere anytime soon more and more states are jumping on the wagon.

In 2005 Washington state imposed $100.00 fines for lighting up within 25 feet of restaurants, bars, movie complexes and other public places according to an article in USAToday. California also became the first state to out law smoking on all of its beaches, Indiana will not allow smoking at bus stops or ATMs, and in many states healthcare workers are forbidden to smoke during the work day and must sign a contract agreeing to this rule. Other states have taken their smoking bans to another level, in Iowa even smoking in your car anywhere on the grounds with get you a fine USAToday also reports. These trends have no where to go but up mainly due to people raising awareness among the public.

Second hand smoke was once thought of as nothing more than annoying. However research as shown there is cause for major concern about second hand smoke. Those exposed to second hand smoke are at equal risk as smokers to developing lung cancer asthma and emphysema. The public feels an obligation to keep non-smokers healthy largely due to rising healthcare costs and health problems.

Some feel by imposing these bans on public places law maker are taking away the publics right to choose what they want to do with their own bodies. While this may be true non smokers and children are being exposed to unwanted health problems by simply being in the presents of smokers.

California is one of the leaders of the new smoking ban trend. Over the years California has taken drastic measures to protect their public. Just when the public thought California couldn’t get tougher on smokers, they did. In 2007, California took their non-smoking ban to a new level and started protecting children. California became one of three states to outlaw smoking while driving with a child in the car according to cigarettehouse.net. This outraged some smokers however the public and California’s governor felt the safety and welfare of a child was more important than a smoker having a cigarette.

Fifty years ago smoking was a widely accepted form of socialization among adults. Smoking was allowed everywhere from restaurants, work sites and in schools. However after seeing the effects of smoking many have chose to quit. Banning smoking is replacing the smoking socialization factor of fifty years ago, the new trend is healthy and no one should expect this new trend to go away any time soon.

Skin Care and Acne Information

A careful skin care regimen will only slightly affect whether or not you get acne. However, healthy skin and the treatment of acne are highly contingent on good skin care habits.

Although some people believe that acne can be prevented by scrubbing diligently, they are mistaken. As a matter of fact, washing your face has very little effect on whether or not you develop acne. This generally happens after acne has already developed.

In most cases, scrubbing isn’t the answer. The skin often dries out and is merely roughened. When harsh treatment exposes the lower skin layers, these layers are forced to develop a protective coat consisting of oil and outer dermis. In the meantime, the skin suffers from the exposure to bacteria, both by contact and by the air. Our front-line barrier to dirt and germs is our skin. It does not enhance the health of our skin to remove multiple layers of it at once.

The answer to healthy skin is to gently wash it with a mild cleanser. Wash completely, but do not rub hard. Not only your face, but also the back, shoulders and chest area can develop acne, so be sure to wash them in the shower. It is a good idea to clean your entire face, from below the jaw up to the hairline, twice a day; around the middle of the day, and at night.

Removing every trace of natural skin oil or sebum, which plays a role in developing acne, is not favorable. Micro-cracks are discouraged from forming because of the flexibility that sebum provides the skin. These micro-cracks are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. If the skin becomes excessively dry, small cracks can occur in the outer layers.

You should use oil-removing astringents in moderation. Acne treatments available over the counter are formulated for the correct balance. Follow the directions precisely when using these products.

Of course, one challenge always is shaving. The hardest problem to solve is the faces of men. When there are skin conditions and/or blemishes, electric razors might help men to stay well groomed, but they can still nick the skin surface like a traditional razor. The best way is to be patient and use movements which are careful and deliberate.

Another helpful tip is to use a softener before shaving. It is fine to use either a manual or electric safety razor. It does not play an important part in the development of acne. Acne is caused by different reasons including ingrown hair and clogged pores. It is important, though, to shave with, not against the grain of the hair. The process can be enhanced by using warm water and soap to soften up the beard.

For women, there are some other recommendations that can be helpful.

These days, makeup selection is easier. Many make-up formulas exist that address acne concerns. They are especially designed to keep pores from clogging. Using foundation sparingly may help. Use subtle check blush rather than caking it on. Non-comedogenic is what you should look for on a makeup label. Mild acne which includes black and whiteheads is called comedones.

Over-the-counter antibacterials are most helpful after an outbreak has developed. It is important to follow all directions. When you over medicate, the result can be clogging of the pores and damage to the skin which is exactly what you want to avoid.

The key to minimizing outbreaks in order to allow for natural oil movement and shedding skin cells is keeping pores open. Both are aided by proper skin care practices.

Stay Alert on Alzheimer’s Disease

The term dementia refers to a brain disorder that demonstrates itself in several ways. A person may easily become confused even in known settings, may ask questions repeatedly, or may neglect such basic things as their own hygiene or basic safety issues. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia linked with old age.

The disease is named after German Doctor Alois Alzheimer. In 1906, Doctor Alzheimer discovered differences in the brain tissue of a patient of his that died with unusual mental illnesses and dementia. His study directed him to find out anomalous clumps and tangles of fiber in the brains of those patients who were suffering from this same disease.

Thence, while it was common for persons who were older and losing their mental faculties to be dismissed as “senile,” Dr. Alzheimer was able to pinpoint the actual breakdown in the brain that led to the loss of their mental faculties.

According to the National Institute on Aging different test conclusions, there are actual brain changes in persons with Alzheimer’s disease. They can find out how nerve cells die in areas of the brain that impact memory and basic abilities. It may seem strange, but everything that we do on a daily basis is because of memory.

We remember that we need to take a shower on a regular basis that we need to shut the door behind us when we leave the house. We don’t realize that we’re doing these things because of memory, and assume that they just happen naturally. But when those memories break down because of Alzheimer’s or any other mental disorder, even the most basic everyday functions begin to be confusing or neglected.

In fact, the brain works by a series of links between nerve endings, all of which are related. For instance, the part of the brain that controls speech sends signals to the nerves that spark the muscles and parts of the mouth when we wish to talk. Of course, all of our mental and physical functions work this way.

With Alzheimer’s disease, these nerve signals are disrupted or broken. If the brain cannot continue to make links in the nerve cells that control memory, all the basic functions are interrupted. The brain can’t memorize that it simply asked a question, so a person repeats it. They can’t remember their own kids, so they are now strangers. Alzheimer’s can be a very frightening and debilitating disease for the patients and the families as well.

If you’ve decided on choosing a career as a pharmacy technician, there are some qualities you must learn to embody in order to be successful at your job. Communication is key because as a pharmacy tech, you will need to converse frequently with pharmacists and patients. It is important that you also make sure that you are well organized, efficient, alert and pay great attention to detail because there is no room for error when preparing medication for treating patients.

A pharmacy technician is not only required to prepare and dispense medicines but is also responsible to advise patients about their diet and health. Because of this, it is important to always keep aware of the latest in medicine developments. Working closely with other technicians, pharmacists and pharmacy aids, a pharmacy technician must be able to and willing to work as a team.

With the advancement of science and modern medicine, it is highly likely that the demand for pharmacy tech will continue to increase. The first thing to do is to find out who wrote the review. Is it an independent individual or a group who tested a variety of creams? If so, what else did they try, how were they tested and what were the results?

Sometimes you can have more faith in magazine writers than people who report in an advertisement. Many of these advertisements are slanted or doctored, to make them sound better than they originally were. Some magazines want to provide honest wrinkle cream reviews and test a variety of brands to see which gives the best results, so not all of them are hyped up lies. If a magazine has nothing to lose or gain by reporting honestly, you should see honest wrinkle cream reviews.

You also need to ask yourself just who they used as testers for those wrinkle cream reviews. If the women that tested the products were all 22 and have never had a wrinkle in their life, how can you get an honest opinion of whether or not they actually work? That’s like asking some skinny person to test a new diet.

Who knows if the diet works if the person has no fat to lose in the first place? It is the same with wrinkle cream reviews. See who actually did the testing and you will have a better idea of whether that review is trustworthy or not.

You also need to use a lot of common sense when considering wrinkle cream reviews. If they promise to completely eliminate wrinkles and make you look ten years younger overnight, does that seem logical?

Wrinkle creams are designed to smooth out your face and make the texture and tone of it appear smoother. Even the best wrinkle cream out there can only do so much though, so keep that in mind.

If you read something in one of those wrinkle cream reviews that seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be realistic about what any cream can do and you’ll be less likely to be disappointed.

Some wrinkle cream reviews can be trusted and others can not. It helps to know the source, and that can help you to determine its credibility. Know what you need to have healthy skin and don’t go broke on something that may or may not work for you.

Taking a walk for some fresh air does wonders for curing bronchitis particularly if you live in an area with low pollutants and low pollen count. Besides the exercise helping to build your body’s immune system (although you don’t want to overdo it as you are suppose to be getting plenty of rest), the fresh air will also help you to clear up your lungs.
