Heartworm preventative measures include the drugs Ivermectin, Milbemycin, and Selamectin, and in all cases it is much better to use heart worm protection for dogs rather than cure the infestation once established.
Treatments using heart worm medications for existing infestations are lengthy, and your pet may require surgical intervention too. If your aim is solely to kill your pets fleas, you may want to use Advantage for dogs, or Frontline, which many people find to be great options. Advantage and Frontline flea control products for dogs will not protect against heartworm thought, as Revolution does.
