I was driving around last night, listening to the radio like I always do, when I heard a song by Vertical Horizon that I have heard many times before. However, last night the song truly struck a chord with me. The song is called Everything You Want. The lyrics go, “He is everything you want, He’s everything you need He says all the right things at exactly the right time - But he means nothing to you, and you don’t know why.”

This is brilliant. These guys are in the know when it comes to the dating world. This song describes what nice guys all over the country go through every day. Most of the dateless guys are not nose picking psychos - they are nice every day guys. Unfortunately they can’t get dates because of the very fact that they are NICE.

It’s really very clear cut when you think about it. The nice guy doesn’t get the girl BECAUSE he is a nice guy. Since he’s a nice guy - women do not feel attracted to him. This is the kind of man that women are friends with — not lovers.

The simplicity of it all struck me while I was listening to Everything You Want. These nice guys are everything that women SAY they want. They are sweet, complementary and romantic, and they probably love their families and their mothers. But while he is everything she says she wants - she wants nothing to do with him.

The attractive woman is going to end up dating some muscle-bound no neck jock whose greatest goal in life is to graduate college in the next 10 years and treats her like a shoe. What is she see in him? Attraction.

I don’t mean that you should try to treat women like garbage. What I do mean is that you need to learn to create attraction for her like Tarzan does so that you can get a date. You need to spark her attraction and keep it going with your own actions and wiles.

What’s the best way to do this? There are several things you can do; however, one of the most effective is using what many people call a cocky funny attitude. To be cocky and funny you tease her, make jokes at her expense, bust on her and keep her completely uncertain of what your next move is going to be. You need to keep her guessing as to whether or not she is having an effect on you.

What most men do not understand is that letting a woman know that you are attracted to her is the kiss of death in the beginning of a relationship. Nice guys - being nice guys - are going to give a woman compliments and let her know how much they are attracted to her. The dumb jock, on the other hand, plays with her and does not let her see how much he is attracted to her. This keeps her coming back for more.

So keep this in mind the next time you are going out looking for a date. Give her a little taste of that bad boy in you and you will be surprised at how she reacts. You’ll be giving her what she doesn’t even know she wants. Read more about the fatality of the nice guy syndrome by clicking below.
