Making A Website

Back in the early 90’s, when the internet was in its infancy, there were very few people who had the HTML knowlegde and capabilty to build a website. The internet was a world ruled by nerds and programmers.
There were no programs like Dreamweaver available back then. Building a website was very labour intensive, and not something that just anyone could do.
This certainly isn’t the case nowadays. On the contrary, making a website is practically a must for anyone who wants to consider himself or herself an internet publisher or marketer. Millions of people are getting into blogging, and the numbers are growing.
If you have not learned to make your own website, you have some catching up to do. After all, sites such as My Space and Live Journal make it so easy that people who are complete novices on the Internet are doing it.
It hasn’t been long since I created my first website. I put it off for ages, telling myself that it was pointless, and that I was too busy. But if I am honest, I was scared. I didn’t think I could do as good a job as some of the sites I had seen.
I was far below the level of most of my friends were at. I knew nothing about building a professional website. At best, I could make something stripped down and basic to display my content. Never the less, I decided it was worth a try.
When I got in action, I found that making a website wasn’t very hard at all. There was so much free Web hosting that I had a variety of options available. It wasn’t expensive, and I certainly didn’t need programming or html knowledge! You can make a website with some basic functionality and content, sharing your photographs and your blogs, in about 10 minutes.
If building a website is something you would like to try, it isn’t to difficult. It’s also a great way to meet new people online and perhaps make new friends.
