4 Easy Steps To Create Web Graphics

I’m sure that you have experienced this: You need some help to understand how to do something on the computer. Someone volunteers to show you. They get in front of the computer and go click, click, click - Done! You saw that they did it, but you are none the wiser as to how to do it. Frustrating, isn’t it! This article is a step-by-step guide in creating a Photoshop graphic.

First Step: Choose Size

Go to “File” and click “New”. You now need to specify the size of your graphic. Normally you would have determined this in advance as you must first have a purpose for the graphic. Ours is a header graphic. Headers on a sales page are usually around 700 pixels by 120 pixels. So we can choose that as our size for the graphic.

Step 2: Choose A Background.

In choosing a background we have 3 options. We can choose a solid color, a gradient, or a picture as the background.

If we choose a solid color we need to specify what color we want. We can do this on the floating toolbox, usually on the left-hand side of the work area. You will see 2 color boxes one over the other. Click on the top box and a color chooser comes up. Choose your color. Now click on the bucket tool. If you don’t see a bucket tool move your mouse over the tools until you find the gradient tool. Right click on the gradient tool and you will see two options, gradient or bucket.

Having chosen the color, move your mouse over the new graphic. Your mouse pointer turns into a bucket and click. The color you chose in the tool box is now your background color.

If you decide that you want a gradient as your background, you will need to turn the bucket tool into the gradient tool. Once again you will need to choose a color. This time you will need to use both boxes. The gradient starts with the top color and finishes with the bottom color you have chosen.

You will notice that on the top bar above your work area you now have some new options. These will allow you to choose the look of your gradient. Experiment with this until you find something you like. To create the gradient, click and hold down the mouse and drag a line from one end to the other. Where you click is the start of the gradient and where you drag to is the end of the gradient.

The third choice of a background is to import a picture. To do this just open a picture file that you wish to use. Make sure this picture is equal or larger in size to the new graphic you are making. With the mouse just drag and drop the picture into the new graphic. Move it around to where you want it and you’re done.

Just one note on this: It does not work with Gif images.

Third Step: Working With Layers

In Photoshop you work with layers. Each time you add something new you create a new layer. On the right-hand side of your work area you will see “Layers”. When you open this you will see all the layers. You can click on any of these layers and make them the active layer and the edit that layer.

You could now import a picture. Just use the drag and drop method mentioned earlier. When you do this you will notice that not only do you get the picture but also some background you don’t want. You can remove this with the eraser tool.

If the background is mostly one color the :Magic Eraser ” will do this with one click. To open the Magic Eraser right click on the eraser and 3 options will appear. After removing any unwanted background, the layer can be moved to wherever it is required. Just pick it up with the mouse and drag it into position.

Step 4: Add Text

Each time you start new text you create a new layer. This means that the text can be moved into any position just as any layer. Photoshop does not always space the lines of text as I like. I overcome this by making each line a new layer and them I can move them where I want them.

To ad text just click on the text tool. “T”. You can choose your font and the size of the text as you would in any word processor.

Now the text can be jazzed up a bit to make it stand out. On the top bar is “Layers”. Click on this and from the drop-down box choose “Layer Style”. This opens up a host of options such as; drop shadow, inner glow, bevel & emboss, stroke and others. Just play around with these and you will soon see what they do. Try them. You will see instant results without committing them.

You have now created a simple but professional looking graphic you can use on a web page.

There is only one thing left to do. Save it. First save it in Photoshop PSD as this will allow you to come back and edit it. Next if you wish to use it as a web graphic you can “Save it for Web and Devices”. This will create a smaller faster loading file for web pages.

Be optimistic if you feel it difficult to stand neutral and endure the pain. Every time you get a negative thought, don’t react to it immediately. Look at the situation from all the positive angles. Think and imagine positively.

So swap your negative thought patterns with positive thought patterns.

3. Focus On Breathing

Shift your focus onto your breathing whevever you experience anxiety and panic attack. Then you will go with life. Breathe like a new born baby.

Practice diaphragm breathing. It will cool down your mind and body. So you can cure your anxiety and panic attacks easily.

4. Learn To Relax

Practice relaxation techniques. For example, Jacobson progressive relaxation technique, meditation and self-hypnosis. These will provide you perfect relaxation. And you can also do certain yoga postures like ‘corpse pose’ for instant relaxation.

Make some lifestyle changes too in your life. Don’t take alcohol, coffee, tea or sugary carbs. By making healthy lifestyle choices, you help yourself to over come panic attacks.

1. Scale down your lifestyle: If the mortgage notes are too high, sell it. Sell some furniture, and rent or buy a smaller home or rent an apartment. I am single and this will not work for everyone. The principles are the same as brick and mortar. Don’t conquer the world at once. Read, practice, and then try it.

In the naked city, there are a million ways to survive, thrive, and stay in the game during this period of time. You may find you never want to go back to “corporate America”. With bad habits, there are certain bad habits that you can avoid altogether. Your body has no need for nicotine or tar from cigarettes. So, if you do not take that first cigarette, you will never have to face the daunting task of giving them up. It is well worth any social discomfort you might feel to dodge that bullet.

Bad habits of personal hygiene can be avoided by developing a positive routine. If you fear going out in public smelling bad, you can make it a habit to shower every morning. Shower more than once a day if the situation calls for it. Brush your teeth and comb your hair. If you are just starting out on your own, you could even make a list. After all, you are probably past those teen years when everyone else made sure you were decent.

Relationships are difficult enough without developing bad habits. If you are getting married, make a point of discussing all the possible trouble areas first. You can do this with a pre-marriage counselor or on your own. Either way, it is good to learn how you each can contribute to keeping away the bad habits of jealousy or neglect.

How Good Habits Can Turn into Bad Habits

It is not uncommon for good habits to morph into bad habits. This often happens when good habits are taken to an extreme. This is why people should be aware of their behavior, even when it might seem positive.

Saving can become a bad habit, if they develop bad habits, they can get carried away with their savings and become a miser. They can be that person who will not buy their children new school clothes because the money has to go into savings. They can be the one who will drive a car that breaks down every week. A person who is this thoughtful is generous in spirit and cares only for the well-being of those around her. The bad habit may come in when the person puts others’ needs too far above her own. This can lead to all sorts of psychological problems for her.

Break the Bad Habits

There are hundreds of bad habits and hundreds of ways to break them. if you need help, there are books, support groups, and counselors to help you. Mostly you can take a common sense approach and get the job done.

If you have the bad habit of chewing with your mouth open, there may be a physical cause. It is disgusting at the dinner table and might make you look bad at a dinner meeting. Perhaps all you need is a nasal decongestant. Maybe if you can breathe through your nose, you will close your mouth.

You can find a way to overcome any addiction or bad habit. Some of them are trivial in the scheme of things. Others are deadly serious. If you find the right help for your situation, you can stop your bad habits.

The majority of self esteem issues stem from the mind. But that doesn’t mean we should completely ignore the physical side. Sometimes, we can treat low self esteem with actual medication. Low self esteem seems to be prominent these days, and the crowd keeps getting bigger! Let’s explore a few options we have.

Most people believe that self esteem is purely mental. Well, if you believed that, you’d be wrong as well. In fact, the physical aspect of self esteem is pretty crucial, so it’s gonna be included in our treatment plan.

Let me elaborate: Imagine that your body stinks. You don’t notice it til the girl next to you starts walking away from you. You get embarrassed. Sure, the mind was affected, but it came from a purely physical situation.

Just take care of your physical need! Of course, not too many other cases will be like this. But still, we should include things like this in our self esteem treatment plan.

Here’s a small tip: Whenever you hear that negative “chatterbox” up in your head, you have to, consciously, disagree with it, even if it feels like a lie. It’s starts small, but you gotta start somewhere.

But let’s face it. Not every self esteem treatment plan will work for everyone. In the worst case scenario that these plans haven’t worked (or you haven’t really tried them), take a step back and mull over the possibility of seeking professional help.
